Hawaii Officially Launches TWC WiFi

September 19, 2013

At an event at the University of Hawaii’s Stan Sheriff Center last week, Oceanic Time Warner Cable officially announced that the company has begun deployment of TWC WiFiâ„¢, a statewide WiFi Hotspot network for its customers. Access to the TWC WiFi network is free to Oceanic Time Warner Cable customers with Standard Internet or above and to Oceanic Time Warner Cable Business Class Internet customers.

“Increasingly, our Hawaii customers want to take their high-speed Internet with them out of the home and on-the-go,” said Oceanic President Bob Barlow. “The TWC WiFi network we’re building for Hawaii will allow our customers to greatly maximize their TWC Internet subscription – at no additional charge.”

On Oahu, customers can access over 400 TWC WiFi Hotspots with hundreds more coming in 2013 as Oceanic Time Warner Cable builds out the network. TWC WiFi will be introduced at popular locations where residents eat, live and play. Recent additions are Sunset Beach, Kailua District Park and the Stan Sheriff Center. Below are some scenes from the night.

Warrior Walk – First Hawaii Warrior Walk Before Lamar Game

September 15, 2012

Prior to today’s Hawaii Warriors vs. Lamar Cardinals game at Aloha Stadium, I was able to catch a glimpse of the first ever Warrior Walk, a tradition that coach Norm Chow instituted this year where the players and coaches walk through the crowd before heading towards the stadium. Here’s the footage I was able to catch of the first ever Warrior Walk:

Celebrities Who Could Use Plastic Surgery

January 22, 2010

So the latest gossip these days (or so I hear) is about Heidi Montag’s/Pratt’s plastic surgery craziness, where she apparently underwent 10 surgeries during the fall, completely changing her look. (You can Google it later at your leisure cause it’s probably in the “NSFW” category 😛 ).

On that note, the “Fave Friday” topic of the day is: Celebrities Who Could Use Plastic Surgery (or maybe even a list of those who shouldn’t have gotten plastic surgery? 8) ). I know there are tons of ’em out there, but the only one I can think of, off the top of my head, is: Barbra Streisand. I’ll leave the rest for you to list below. 8)

Others like DJ Qualls, Steve Buscemi, and former NBA star Sam Cassell qualify, but to me, they are quirky and endearing, and that “different” look is what makes them unique and stand out.

What I can’t stand is when a celebrity is obviously ugly, but yet arrogant and overconfident (i.e. Usher). I know, I know. I know nothing about him on a personal level and it’s shallow for me to come to a crass judgment based simply on what I see, but sorry Usher, you make the list. *grin*

  • Barbra Streisand
  • Usher

Wotchu tink?

Talk to me!
* What other celebrities/athletes would you like to see go under the knife.
* Am I the only one upset over NBC’s ridiculous buyout of Conan O’Brien? I am soooo boycotting Jay Leno now!
* Are you ready for some football? Who you rootin’ for this weekend? Jets, Colts, Vikings, or Saints? Wouldn’t a Colts/Saints Super Bowl be pretty nuts?
* What did you think of the NBA All-Star Voting results?
* Does anybody really care about Tiger Woods in the sex rehab clinic?
* Any A.I. (American Idol) chatter out dea?
* Gooooo Bows! Think they got a shot against #1 WAC ranked La Tech?

Shoots den! Have a great VH07V Friday and an even greater weekend. See you on da flip side! 🙂

Fave Five Friday: Talents

May 22, 2009

(This one’s actually wifey’s suggestion. Mad props to her!)

So last week, we went to watch our friend Heejin perform a piano recital at the University of Hawaii’s Orvis Auditorium. Sistah’s got some skills lemme tell you!

After witnessing Jin’s super-talent in person, wifey suggested I put this out to all y’all to see what hidden (or not so hidden) talents we gots ourselves. Hopefully, you won’t have to reach (like me) to find your 5. 😛

Holla!

  1. Friendly/People Person & Happy/Never Grouchy – for the most part, I think I’m a friendly, approachable, people person kinda guy. I hate people who are unfriendly, snobby and/or stand-off-ish, or who think they are better than you. My close friends will probably tell you I’m a little too friendly when I get all touchy feely with them! LOL!  I don’t understand people who can go through life being unhappy. You have one life, why not make the most of it right? Don’t worry, be happy!
  2. King of Nicknames – I love making up nicknames for people I know. You folks up in hurr, my co-workers, friends, etc. Loves it!
  3. Semi-athletic – I can usually pick up anything that involves, throwing, catching, running, and jumping, with a little bit of hand-eye coordination.
  4. Never Give Up Attitude – not sure if this is a blessing or a curse, but I don’t like failing at anything, so I keep at things until there’s no more keeping-at anymore. Ha!
  5. Jack of All Trades Master of None – this one’s probably due to the trait above. And maybe my short attention span as well. 😛 Whether it be coding for the web, strumming a few chords on my uke, spinning a basketball on my finger, blurting out nonsense via this blog, etc., I’d like to think that I’m pretty decent at whatever I decide to put my mind to. Don’t think I’ve ever become a “Master” at any one thing (even though I’m sometimes called a “Webmaster”! LOL!), but at least I try my best. 8)

I don’t even think any of those above are talents. I tol’ you I was reachin’! Haha! Anyway, I’m sure you guys can name some REAL talents that you possess. Share, share!

Happy VHO7V Friday y’all! Have a good weekend and I’ll see y’all on Monday! 🙂

Survey Thursday – Are You a Fan of UH Men’s Basketball?

February 19, 2009

* Are you a fan of the University of Hawaii Men’s Basketball program? More importantly, are you going to the game this Saturday?

I know, I know. It’s hard to be one after a gut-wrenching loss to Nevada last Saturday at home (*crossing my fingers for their nationally televised matchup against Fresno State today*)… but now, there’s more reason to come support the ‘Bows this Saturday at 7:05PM at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Not only is it the second to the last home game for the season (wipe back those tears!), it is the big Oceanic Time Warner Cable sponsored game! *grin* The first 1,000 fans through the gates gets a blue, eco-friendly Oceanic/ESPNU/Food Network/HGTV bag… great for grocery shopping! Check-check-check it out!

Get your eco-friendly Oceanic Time Warner Cable bag at this Saturday's game!
