Weekly VH07V T-Shirt Update!

The time has finally arrived! We’re just three short days away from the 2012 Hawaii Ocean Expo where I’ll be debuting the VH07V booth. The show is at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall and runs from Saturday, April 21st (9am-7:30pm) through Sunday, April 22nd (9am-5pm). If anybody has any expertise in booth design, or even just doing trade shows in general, please help a brutha out! 😛

We’re cutting it pretty close, but all three vendors (tees, hats, and stickers) assure me that my orders will be ready in time for the show. I plan on having CHOKE quantities and styles, with show only discounts, so come on down and say “Hi!” if you can k?

This week’s “Spotted” shot for VH07V is of the winning team I sponsored during the Central YMCA’s 1st Annual Indoor Triathlon. From left to right, they are the jogger: Melissa Chang (@Melissa808), the swimmer: Dino Kawamura (@Legendjy), and the biker Shay F (@StarletShay). Congratulations guys and mahalos for reppin’ VH07V!

Weekly VH07V T-Shirt Update!

We’re still on track for my first ever trade show appearance at the 2012 Hawaii Ocean Expo – on April 21st (9am-7:30pm) & 22nd (9am-5pm) at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.

Orders for hats and adult tees (including a new color combo) are in, as is the keiki and lady’s lines! The Banner is in progress and I still have to order additional stickers soon. Business cards are pau!

This week’s “Spotted” shot for VH07V is actually one of me. Sorry! LOL! It’s a shot from a testimonial spot we filmed for Lanakila Pacific Custom Products, who is actually taking the lead on my keiki and women’s stuff for this order. I’ve been so involved with Lanakila Pacific, from doing routes for their Meals on Wheels program, catering events for work from their Lanakila Kitchen, to participating in their annual Good Table event, that I almost feel like family. Heck, Lanakila Pacific is even the primary beneficiary of Rice Fest, the annual event I co-founded. It only made perfect sense to go through Lanakila Custom Products for my screening needs.

Last Thursday, some friends and I participated in Lanakila Pacific’s The Good Table, an island-wide dining event to benefit Lanakila Meals on Wheels. Our restaurant was Ola at the Turtle Bay Resort, where we enjoyed each others’ company (with wine in abundance 8) ) and ate some ono kine grindz prepared by Chef Fred DeAngelo. Some of the photos taken that night (from all participating restaurants) were selected by Lanakila Pacific and entered into a photo contest to win a “staycation” package at the Royal Hawaiian valued at $1,500. Ricky Li’s photo from our time at Ola is currently in the lead with 106 Likes. Please “Like” the photo and help him maintain the lead to win himself a nice little staycation (the contest ends this Friday). Rumor has it that he may turn it into a hotel party with all those in the photo. 😆

The Good Table at SOUL Restaurant

October 8, 2010

Last night, Rick Nakama and his wife Kelli invited wifey and I to SOUL Restaurant for dinner. This wasn’t just any dinner though… it was a dinner to benefit Lanakila Pacific‘s Meals on Wheels’ annual “The Good Table” event which involved over 50 participating restaurants striving for one common goal: To end senior hunger.

At precisely 6pm, guests at each participating restaurant got to chow down on some mean off-the-menu specials in the name of charity. Us social media heads even got to upload our photos directly to Lanakila Pacific’s flickr stream and hashtag our tweets using the uber-trending #GoodTable.

Here are the sights – from our perspective – last night at SOUL…

A big mahalo to Rick and Kelli Nakama for letting us join you for such a scrumptious, and unforgettable dinner. A hearty thank you to Chef Sean Priester (and the SOUL Restaurant staffers) for working overtime, cooking up a storm for us. Thank you also to all of the other participating restaurants and tireless volunteers for helping to put on this wonderful event. Lastly, big ups to Lanakila Pacific and their Meals on Wheels and The Good Table programs. It’s selfless giving from organizations like you who make this world a better place for those in need. Mahalo!
