Thanks to Centerplate’s CGear and their 4 stores inside the stadium (one at each end zone and one on each sideline), you can now pick up our Black “Tron”, Green “Shaka”, and Green/White Logo designs, along with our Black/Green Snapback and Green “Shaka” Snapback Trucker! For this week’s “Spotted“, we have another video of a little SkinnyHawaiians silliness involving everyone’s favorite drink: Green River. A few months ago, I posed a question out to y’all about where the BIL can find some Green River in Hawaii these days. After researching that, I actually tried to make it on my own and suddenly became an expert at it. 😛 Here’s how that turned out…
* My two new colorways are FINALLY in! Gray/Green for the new football season and Blue/Pink (partially for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure walk)! Both are selling like hotcakes so far, especially the Gray/Green one!
* Speaking of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, my friend Shari continues to sell products and get mad donations for her team: Team VH07V! As of this writing, her team is up to $625 in donations and is at 63% of her $1,000 goal. Help them reach that goal by clicking on that link and making your tax deductible donation! I will also personally donate proceeds from the sale of the Blue/Pink VH07V shirts during this drive right back to Shari and her team. If you’d like to join her team and walk, click on this link.
* Last week’s tailgating kine action prior to the Hawaii Warriors vs. Lamar Cardinals game was a great success. Did you guys go? Got to hang out with some friends I haven’t seen in a long time and have a few before the game. Even got a good seat to catch a glimpse of the first ever Warrior Walk, a tradition that coach Norm Chow instituted this year where the players and coaches walk through the crowd before heading towards the stadium. Here’s some footage I was able to catch of the first ever Warrior Walk:
Warrior Walk – First Hawaii Warrior Walk Before Lamar Game
* As one of the sponsors for this year’s Rice Fest (duh!), VH07V will be responsible for producing both the official Rice Fest shirt (for sale at the event at the VH07V booth) and the shirt for all volunteers. Check out this sample for our volunteers. Pretty legit right? 🙂
Where/When you can find VH07V in the coming weeks:

Don’t forget, this Saturday (Sept 22 from 8am-1pm), my home storage facility – Hawaii Self Storage in Mililani – will be holding a “Garage Sale” to help support the Hawaii Meth Project. Buy great stuff and support a good cause at the same time. If you wanna pick up some VH07V merch while you’re there *grin* , message me on Facebook and I’ll see if I can swing by and meet you at my unit.
This year’s Rice Fest will be held next week Saturday, September 29th from 11am-7pm at Ward Centers! There will be cooking demonstrations from Chef Mavro of Chef Mavro Restaurant and his partners Stephanie Lum and Shawn Ching of Hawaii News Now, and Grant Kawasaki of Hawaiian Grown TV & Hawaiian Grown Kitchen and his partner Justin Cruz from KHON2, Santa Miyoshi of Tokkuri Tei defending his “Riceipe” contest belt, live entertainment by Jody Kamisato & ‘Uke’s Rising Stars and Jon Yamasato, and taiko drumming from Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko Hawaii, our 3rd annual SPAM Musubi eating contest, and our attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the world’s Largest SPAM Musubi! Don’t forget to also bring your brown rice or monetary donations for our beneficiary Lanakila Meals on Wheels. Can’t wait! See you there…
I think last week’s video was a bit too difficult because, although we had a handful of Facebook shares via the blog, the comments/guesses were unusually low.
I had another food video queued up and ready to go for this week, but to avoid another slow comment week (hopefully), we’ll try something a lil’ different (yet again). If this doesn’t work, we may just have to go back to good ol’ fashioned photos again. LOL!
The quiz for the video is still the same (guessing Where In Hawaii this is), but you also get to enjoy a bit of “entertainment” while you’re at it. I use the term “entertainment” loosely because it’s yet to be determined if the video is actually entertaining to you. Ahahaha! LMK what you think (good or bad) in the comment area below k?

Once again, Marc Orbito of Hungry eYe Photo continues to impress. Following up our last VH07V photo shoot at Kaka`ako Kool, I hired Marc to help shoot our next scene at the iconic Rainbow Drive-In. With the help of fellow blogger and friend Catherine Toth, I was able to get permission from owner Jimmy Gusukuma (Toth’s friend) to shoot some scenes there for VH07V. Wow, much mahalos Cat and Mr. Gusukuma! What an honor!
Below is a shot from Marc’s collection from that night! Unreal yeah? Can’t wait to see how the rest of the day’s shots turned out. To hire Marc for your photographic needs, be sure to contact him via his Facebook page here: Hungry eYe Photo!
This week’s “Spotted” shot for VH07V is of friend and supporter Jody Kamisato. He owns and operates the very popular ukulele school called Ukulele Hale. Jody is also a member of the Na Hoku Hanohano nominated band Heart & Soul, mentors keiki through his Ukes on the Loose program, and has a regular gig in Aulani’s Starlit Hui show every Monday and Thursday.

And finally… I’m officially a Guinness World Recordsâ„¢ Record Holder!
Well, I can’t take all the credit, but it’s pretty exciting nonetheless. 😉
We finally received notification back from the Guinness World Recordsâ„¢ folks that our record setting attempt for the “Largest SPAM Musubi” at last year’s Rice Fest was made official. Me, along with the other 20 or so volunteers/participants in the building of the musubi got our names in the record books. Cool right? 🙂
Guinness World Recordsâ„¢ Certificate
Never satisfied, we’ll be attempting to break our own record for the “Largest SPAM Musubi” at this year’s Rice Fest in September. More info to come when I get it…
Stay tree weeks in a row now fo da video versions of WIH and I still no can tell if you like this bettah den da photos. LOL!

For the 3 of you who read my food articles from the other sites, I’ve actually used this clip before. Let’s see if any of you can figgah um out!

Please “Like” (my sister’s) Island Movers Page on Facebook
As some of you may know, the sister recently changed careers from her post as Hawaii News Now’s Crime Reporter and occasional Anchor to her new position as the Director of Communications and Public Relations for Hawktree International. One of her initiatives is to bring new life into the Island Movers Facebook page (Island Movers is one of the many entities of Hawktree International), so I ask you, oh wonderful WWE `ohana, please help a brutha and “Like” a sistah’s page k? 😉 Here’s a quote from her:
This week’s “Spotted” shot for VH07V was taken at the final home game at Les Murakami Stadium when the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warrior baseball team took on the Nevada Wolf Pack. My brother-in-law had choice seats behind home plate and just so happen to be wearing his green VH07V shirt as OCSportsTV televised the entire game live! Pretty cool huh!?

Mahalos Ynaku!
And finally… I wanted to send a quick mahalos to bruddah Ynaku who so generously gave me this box of cookies from Big Island Candies when I met him for the first time IRL yesterday. On top of that he gave me a cute Dora the Explorer bag for my daughter and bought a VH07V shirt to boot! Wow, what a guy! It’s times like these that make me so happy to be able to share this blog space with you guys! Although we may not know each other personally, I honestly feel like we are part of one big family. Mahalos for always tuning in gang!
It’s a new world record folks. Two weeks in a row of video posts. Is ya impressed? *grin*
This one is pretty dang duck soup. Still trying to figgah out how to make this a little more challenging and/or interesting so if you have any suggestions (other than including da kine eye candy), holla atcho boy!

Some of y’all were asking where last week’s video was and why wuz I dea. Here’s a clip from a scene we shot there one weekend, from our silly “SkinnyHawaiians” series.
This week’s (combined) “Spotted” shot for VH07V is a trifecta of RAV4s. It seems that a lot of RAV4 owners love them some VH07V and VH07V loves the RAV4s right back! 🙂
