Holding Hands

April 21, 2009

Recently, a friend of mine broke the awkward barrier and held hands with a mutual friend, and it made me think back to that first hand holding moment. The uneasiness right before, the feeling of nervousness during, and the “what the heck were we waiting for?” sensation from there going forward.

Boys and girls are odd creatures,ย and we’re all at fault. We play the game of: I’m not interested, ok maybe a little, but not too much, but maybe I should show a bit more. It’s a back and forth chess match until, finally, one side says “screw this, I’m going in for the kill!” And more than likely, it’s the boy that has to take action ain’t it?

Why is that?

My theory is that you women don’t want to come off as “easy” or the aggressor. True?

And what’s up with the chicken boys who never make the moves? I still blame it on the girl. That’s right! They don’t drop da hints enough orย give the right signs for us tigers to be able to pounce. LOL!

And then there’s the opposite side of the spectrum. The flirty broads or the playa-wannabe donkeys who hold hands with just about anyone and everyone they can get their grubby paws on. They don’t even wait for da signs and just chanceum! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Not even sure which is worse. :

So what’s the moral of the story?

Shy ladies (hAAaaaaay!), if you want us boys to hold your hands, hollla.
Shy fellas (ho ho!), if you want to hold a girl’s hand, wait for a sign and just do it.
Flirty broads and playa-wannabes, no comment.

To my friends, who are the subject of this blog, I hope you’re not reading this and if you are, peace on earth, and good will to all. ๐Ÿ˜›

Talk to me!
* Did this blog make any sense whatsoever? Ahahaha!
* How was your first hand holding experience? And second? And third? And fourth? ๐Ÿ˜‰
* If you are a girl, do you wait for the guy to make the first move? Even if you REALLY like him?
* What kind of hints do you send to show him you’re interested?
* If you’re a guy, at what point do you make a move? Is it a feeling you have or do you need to see some signs first?
* How do you show that you’re interested in her?
* Susan Boyle who? Check out the newest Britain’s Got Talent sensation: 12 year old Shaheen Jafargholi!

I Kissed a Girl and I Liked It

July 24, 2008

You’ve probably heard this song on the radio. Katy Perry’s I Kissed a Girl. It’s quite catchy actually (somewhat of a club banger), but it made me wonder what every man thinks but is too afraid to ask… Actually, I’m afraid to ask too (at least in this public arena), but if you get me drunk, I may just blurt it out. ๐Ÿ˜›

Basically, “does you think” (props to Borat) every girl thinks like this or has it in them to think like this? Yes, it’s a wicked generalization, but you hear girls talking about their “girlfriends” and see them holding hands with each other at the clubs all the time. You’ll never see a straight dude get close to touching another straight dude’s hand or speak of having a pajama party with their “boyfriends.”

Why do you think society says it’s ok for girls to do/say things that guys will never think of saying. Why is it more acceptable to see two girls kissing than two guys eating lunch together. Don’t get me wrong, I totally agree with society, especially with that two girls kissing thing ๐Ÿ˜› , but isn’t it an odd one? Post your theories below man!

Katy Perry – I Kissed A Girl

This was never the way I planned
Not my intention
I got so brave drink in hand
Lost my discretion
It’s not what I’m used to
Just wanna try you on
I’m curious for you
Caught my attention

I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don’t mean I’m in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it
I liked it

No I don’t even know your name
It doesn’t matter
Your my experimental game
Just human nature
It’s not what good girls do
Not how they should behave
My head gets so confused
Hard to obey

I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don’t mean I’m in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it
I liked it

Us girls we are so magical
Soft skin, red lips, so kissable
Hard to resist so touchable
Too good to deny it
Ain’t no big deal, it’s innocent

I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don’t mean I’m in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it
I liked it
