What Would You Do If YOU Won the Lottery?

September 8, 2009

Here’s a kinda random, but (I think) fun, Fun Day Monday (even though it’s Tuesday! 😛 ) topic.

Recently, Yahoo! Buzz blogged about a lottery winner blowing most of her winnings, and it got me a’ thinking. What the heck MANG! If I won the lottery I would NEVER lose it all! At least that’s what I tell myself now, you know, pre-winnings.

You would think that you’d be responsible and smart with the dollah dollah bills (y’all), but nobody really knows what goes on in a lottery winner’s noggin’ when something like that happens. I’d like to believe that I wouldn’t go crazy on ridiculous things, but who knows. Maybe that 7th Hummer is something I’d really REALLY need! 😛

In all seriousness though, I think I’d be pretty good, as long as there aren’t any crazy family members who come out of the woodwork and try to kidnap me. Here’s a list of things I’d probably do with the mad papah. Post yours below k?

* Cribs. Living in the 808, with the home prices the way they are, I’d probably invest in several strategically placed homes to earn regular income for years to come. For fun, maybe even try to buy an entire block. This could theoretically bring all of my family and friends together to live on one street in perfect harmony. Hehe!
* Invest. Like they say, pay yourself first right? I’d throw some in 401K, Roths, savings, etc., just to make sure I’ve got some stored away for a rainy day.
* Buy a pimp G-ride. Because of the unbeatable payments (zilcho), your boy is still drivin’ a car from 1996. I guess I could splurge on a pimpmobile when I win the mega millions. LOL!
* Retire. Depending on how much the pot is, I’d probably consider retiring after the above is making income equal or more to what I make now. Nothing against the current gig, but if you’re making the same amount while sleeping, wouldn’t you do the same? 😛 Shhhh! No tell on me!
* Travel. I live to travel! There are so many places I want to go, but not enough time (or money). With retirement and a big lottery cash flow, those two issues will be instantly solved.
* Take up a hobby. In between trips, I’m gonna have to do something to take up my time before I go crazy (or drive others crazy with my “I’m bored” calls 😛 ). Maybe I’ll pick up golf again? Surf? Fish? I guess we shall see… 8)

Talk to me!
* What would you do if you won the lottery?
* What are some of the necessities you’d buy?
* Some frivolous thangs?
* Savings?
* Donations?
* Send some to me? 8)
* What hobby do you think I should take up?

EATS! – Poke Monday

September 8, 2008

Last Monday, I was lucky enough to buy fresh ahi from a friend’s fishing expedition. Since it was sold to me at such a good price, I thought I’d spoil myself (and others) by making poke out of the entire 2-3 pounds; something I’d never even consider doing at regular prices.

I’m not much of a chef (YET!), but I’d like to think that limu poke is my bag baby. You see, I used to work as a “Fish Cutter” (yes, that’s the official title of those peeps) for Safeway, and my poke was da bomb yo. Hehe. Of course that’s just my opinion, but it sure was a good feeling when customers would only buy if I was the one who made the current batch. 8)

Anyway, since the last post about poke was a hit (at least by WWE standards), we’re testing the waters again with another poke post. This time with shots of my poke making process. Hope y’all enjoy!
